... You put that in there specifically because I said she and Eli are necro, didn't you?

Logic appears to be right here. Go figure.

This does not, however, preclude the possibility of her having speak with dead. It's also a cleric spell. Fairly low level, if I recall. That means she could have it as an ability from a racial ancestry or bloodline, or, you know, have a wand or ring of it.

Speak with dead isn't the same as speaking with the person in the afterlife. It's more like you are animating their corpse into a semblance of life so you can ask questions. You can't really carry on an actual conversation.

Really? Darn. I've been using it wrong in games, then.

At first I was going to make a comment about the lady not having any perception, but looking back I realize the hat was likely on the grave before Eli took it.
DtDoom 26th May 2015, 5:55 PM edit delete reply

That's Eli's hat, he put it down when he took it off.
fellow 27th May 2015, 6:02 AM edit delete reply
It's Roku's hat from before he died. See strip 81.
DtDoom 27th May 2015, 11:53 AM edit delete reply

But Eli has been wearing it this whole time since then. Plus, something like that wouldn't just stay there, someone would have wandered off with it if it had been left on the grave. Or it would have blown away.

So yea, she should think it's weird that it's there at some point.

"No one would ever take this hat. That would be stealing and stealing is illegal."

She is a paladin, remember?

Also we don't know how long he's been wearing the hat.
DtDoom 27th May 2015, 8:55 PM edit delete reply

Paladin doesn't mean stupid.

And he's been wearing it at least since he was introduced in the strip. However long that's been.

Still doesn't address that it probably would have blown away either.
